Success through partnership 🤝 On a construction site like the Sechshelden Viaduct, many things happen at once – and none of this happens in isolation. Managing a project of this complexity takes more than technology and experience: it takes mutual understanding, trust and a willingness to see things from each other’s perspective. That spirit shapes the partnership between Implenia and Doka. From the outset, the working relationship has been open, constructive and built on clear coordination. Challenges were addressed directly and decisions made together – with mutual respect and a shared goal: moving the project forward as a whole. How do you maintain a weekly floor cycle when three high-rise cores are rising in parallel and crane capacity is limited? 🏗️ At the Central-Business-Tower (CBT) in the heart of Frankfurt am Main, ZÜBLIN is constructing a 205-metre office tower designed by CBT Architects KSP ENGEL. The project brings new high-rise construction together with the site’s historic bank building from the 1890s, integrating its listed façade into the new complex. 🏢 The tower comprises 52 above-ground floors and three high-rise cores, with the north and south cores advancing ahead of the central core. To support this construction sequence, Doka developed a formwork concept using the Platform SCP and loading platforms. Safe construction of bridge piers rising up to 66 metres on Poland’s tallest flyover bridge. 🌉 Located along Poland’s Via Carpathia corridor, the multi-span flyover bridge forms part of the S19 Babica–Jawornik expressway and is being constructed by Intercor Sp. z o.o., with spans reaching up to 188 metres. ⬆️ For the construction of the bridge piers, three units of Automatic climbing formwork SKE100 plus support the team at working heights exceeding 60 m. Integrated working platforms, stair towers and ladders provide protected working areas and secure access throughout the climbing cycles. Multiple working levels allow anchoring, hydraulic climbing and concreting activities to take place independently on different levels. Low-carbon concrete and early slab striking without a drophead - can they work together? 🤔 Low-carbon concrete helps reduce the carbon footprint by using less clinker. But there’s a challenge: it takes longer to harden, especially in low temperatures. 🌡️ So, can you still strike slabs early when using these concrete mixes?Without a drophead? Together with SMART MINERALS GMBH at Technische Universität Wien, we put it to the test using the DokaXdek slab formwork system and its freely positionable support head. The support head allows the panels to be arranged flexibly in both directions, helping reduce infill areas and eliminating the need for additional infill strips. We deliberately chose challenging test conditions: • low reinforcement • large spans • slow-setting, low-carbon concrete Just 1.5 days after pouring, the first areas of formwork were removed and the young concrete slab was supported with temporary props. After three days, these props were removed as well. For comparison, a reference area remained fully supported until the target concrete strength was reached. The result: It worked. ✅ The differences in slab deflection were within measurement tolerance, with no significant deviations. 👉 The study shows that, depending on weather and temperature conditions, early striking can also work with low-carbon concrete without using a drophead. Combined with the flexibility of the DokaXdek support head and reshoring, this makes it possible to benefit from faster formwork cycles while using concrete mixes with a lower carbon footprint. How do you form 6-metre-high walls in a confined space without crane support? 🏗️ At the City of Calgary Composting Facility Expansion, construction had reached one of its most demanding phases: forming the reinforced lower walls of the digester building - directly beneath and around the installed steel drums. Working closely with Maple-Nason Chinook, Doka’s engineering and site teams supported the execution using the aluminium framed formwork DokaXlight. Fully handset, the system enabled precise placement within the confined layout and for pour heights of up to 6 metres. ⬆️ The dense reinforcement, varying tie lengths, and waterproof tie requirements near the drums made this phase particularly demanding. With no option for ganged formwork and restricted crane access, each panel was positioned manually - supported by the lightweight and modular design of the system. 🚀 This phase highlighted how close collaboration and the right formwork solution supported progress - because when it really matters, our solutions make it work. ✨ #Doka #Formwork #Construction #WeMakeItWork

How do you form 6-metre-high walls in a confined space without crane support? 🏗️ At the City of Calgary Composting Facility Expansion, construction had reached one of its most demanding phases: forming the reinforced lower walls of the digester building - directly beneath and around the installed steel drums. Working closely with Maple-Nason Chinook, Doka’s engineering and site teams supported the execution using the aluminium framed formwork DokaXlight. How lightweight panels support handset forming at the new radiopharmaceutical centre site in Calgary. 🏗️ Doka is working alongside CANA Management Ltd. on the Calgary Radiopharmaceutical Centre (CRC) project, where different structural areas require adaptable formwork solutions across the site. For the grade beams, the Aluminium framed formwork DokaXlight is applied. With a main panel weighing only 22.6 kg, the system supports handset forming on site.
