Connecting two of India’s megacities across challenging terrain – supported by Doka’s formwork solutions. 🚀 The “Missing Link” is a 13.3 km infrastructure project designed to bypass the Khandala Ghat section of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway – an area known for steep gradients, hairpin bends and landslide risks. Once completed, it will cut travel distance by over six kilometres and reduce journey time by around 30 minutes. The contractor Afcons Infrastructure Ltd. is constructing, among other elements, a 650 m-long cable-stayed bridge with four diamond-shaped pylons, each 181.77 m tall – among the highest in India. 🏗️ Doka supports the construction of these pylons with tailored formwork solutions. Due to their complex geometry and inclined surfaces, Doka’s Xclimb60 Short Track and Automatic climbing formwork SKE100 plus were combined. The customised formwork solution continuously adapts to the changing shape of the pylons, enabling precise and efficient progress on both the simpler and more complex sections. What does it take to build a 72-story skyscraper in the middle of Manhattan? 🏙️ Construction is progressing steadily at 989 6th Avenue, right in the heart of New York City - just steps from the Empire State Building. With a uniquely curved design, extremely tight site conditions (including just 9 inches of clearance to the neighboring structure), a 3-day cycle schedule and demanding on-site logistics, this high-rise project presents a demanding environment for everyone on site. To keep pace with the required 3-day cycle time, general contractor Precise Construction Contracting Inc. turned to Doka USA for a customized formwork solution. For the core and exterior shear walls, the team implemented Frami formwork combined with Xclimb 60 platforms to allow for efficient, crane-independent progress. Combined with fast assembly, modular flexibility and reduced crane requirements, Doka UniKit proved to be the ideal solution for this challenging infrastructure project. Even under tight spatial constraints, just-in-time logistics and Doka UniKit’s plug-and-play principle helped keep the project on track - a prime example of how our solutions make it work when it really matters. The challenge: the formwork had to be designed without support in the middle, the river section. Konrad Leymann GmbH & Co. KG brought Doka on board - with the aim of creating a strong and compact structure. The result was a customized shoring solution consisting of UniKit primary and secondary beams HEB600 and HEB400 extensions. The loads were transferred to the bridge piers via a load-bearing and lowerable suspension structure - completely without ground contact. Thanks to the use of lowering wedges, the shoring could be easily removed again after concreting. Doka UniKit 🧰 – the universal engineering kit for heavy loads – once again proved how even complex requirements can be implemented systematically and efficiently. Powering Austria’s Energy Future - Safely and Sustainably. 🚀 In the heart of the Hohe Tauern mountains, VERBUND is building Limberg III, a state-of-the-art pumped-storage power plant that will strengthen Austria’s renewable energy supply and boost grid stability with 480 megawatts of additional capacity. To increase storage volume, the Limberg dam/Limberg barrier at Lake Wasserfallboden is being raised by eight meters. During the demanding concrete refurbishment works led by Swietelsky AG, Doka supports with 22 tonnes of Ringlock scaffolding. What if complex site conditions called not just for strong formwork and shoring solutions - but tailored services? 🏗️ For the N16 Tavannes-Bözingenfeld TP2 bridge construction in the Canton of Bern, the Swiss Federal Roads Office (OFROU) and contractor Walo Bertschinger AG relied on Doka not only for formwork and shoring solutions, but also for tailored services from a single source. 🛠️ To meet the project’s tight schedule and limited on-site space, around 250 3D-planned formwork boxes were pre-assembled by Doka’s pre-assembly service. Used for piers, superstructure and parapets, the custom elements ensured maximum precision and minimized assembly work on site. How do you bridge a 22-meter span without intermediate supports? 🤔 As part of the new N16 Tavannes-Bözingenfeld TP2 bridge construction in the Canton of Bern, the Swiss Federal Roads Office (OFROU) and contractor Walo Bertschinger AG are relying on Doka’s system expertise – with Doka UniKit, the universal engineering kit for heavy loads, playing a central role in delivering flexibility and efficiency under complex site conditions. 🏗️ Thanks to the high load-bearing capacity of the Doka UniKit secondary beams, seven bridge spans of up to 22 meters in length were realized without any need for intermediate supports. Combined with fast assembly, modular flexibility and reduced crane requirements, Doka UniKit proved to be the ideal solution for this challenging infrastructure project. Even under tight spatial constraints, just-in-time logistics and Doka UniKit’s plug-and-play principle helped keep the project on track - a prime example of how our solutions make it work when it really matters. More than 700 tons of Doka UniKit material have already been deployed. The challenge: the formwork had to be designed without support in the middle, the river section. Konrad Leymann GmbH & Co. KG brought Doka on board - with the aim of creating a strong and compact structure. The result was a customized shoring solution consisting of UniKit primary and secondary beams HEB600 and HEB400 extensions. The loads were transferred to the bridge piers via a load-bearing and lowerable suspension structure - completely without ground contact. Thanks to the use of lowering wedges, the shoring could be easily removed again after concreting. Powering Austria’s Energy Future - Safely and Sustainably. 🚀 In the heart of the Hohe Tauern mountains, VERBUND is building Limberg III, a state-of-the-art pumped-storage power plant that will strengthen Austria’s renewable energy supply and boost grid stability with 480 megawatts of additional capacity. To increase storage volume, the Limberg dam/Limberg barrier at Lake Wasserfallboden is being raised by eight meters. During the demanding concrete refurbishment works led by Swietelsky AG, Doka supports with 22 tonnes of Ringlock scaffolding.
