When education meets engineering, inspiration begins. How do we bring technical education to life for young students? By turning abstract concepts into something they can touch, see – and truly understand. That’s exactly what we’ve done with the Mittelschule Gunskirchen, where a real Rotax engine is now used as a permanent teaching exhibit. Normally used in Ski-Doo snowmobiles the specially by our apprentices prepared engine now provides a unique chance to experience real mechanical engineering up close. Students can explore the engine’s components, understand how they interact, and gain insights into real-world powertrain technology – far beyond what’s in a textbook. "Getting young people excited about technology starts with experience and understanding," explains Mario Gebetshuber , General Manager at BRP-Rotax, VP Global Sourcing / Operations Powertrain & Rotax Propulsion Systems, who officially presented the engine during a school visit. "By providing practical insights into the world of engines, we want to inspire young talents and awaken their interest in technology." This collaboration with the school is part of our long-standing commitment to regional engagement and education – because the engineers of tomorrow are already here, and they’re curious. Countless moments of skill, teamwork, and ambition. 🚀 At the 2025 Apprentice Competition, 17 BRP-Rotax apprentices and 8 talented guests from neighboring companies demonstrated their impressive technical knowledge and hands-on abilities in the fields of electrical engineering and metalworking. Facing challenging tasks designed by the Wirtschaftskammer Oberösterreich , Sparte Industrie, our second-year apprentices proved the power of focused, practice-driven education – and their readiness to shape the future of technology! We are especially proud to celebrate two “excellent successes” – Max and Hesam – who were each awarded a fully equipped tool backpack for their outstanding performance. In addition, four apprentices achieved a “good success”, highlighting the strength of our dual education model. In total, the Apprentice Competition 2025 brought together 743 participants from 81 industrial companies across Upper Austria – and our team stood out with passion and professionalism. “The competition is not just an important milestone in the training of our apprentices – it also takes their personal and professional development a big step forward,” states Werner Lehner , Group leader of the BRP-Rotax apprentice workshop. Empowering women at BRP! On April 24, BRP-Rotax launched "Women @ BRP-T – Connect & Empower" with a powerful kickoff event in Gunskirchen. It’s part of the division-wide commitment to promoting diversity, fostering exchange, and driving female empowerment within BRP Technology. The event brought together 70 women from across departments for inspiring conversations, group reflections, and keynote inputs: 🔹 Catharina Trierenberg, Chair of the Supervisory Board @ BRP-Rotax, encouraged participants to lead with courage and confidence. 🔹 Anik Caron, CRHA, MBA , VP HR @ BRP Technology, shared current female advancement initiatives across BRP. 🔹 BRP-Rotax General Managers Mario Gebetshuber and Peter Ölsinger emphasized the long-term value of equal opportunity for our success. 💛 To mark Anti-Bullying Day on May 4, we proudly handed over our donation from the 2025 BRP Yellow Day to ZARA - Zivilcourage und Anti-Rassismus-Arbeit , an Austrian nonprofit that offers legal and emotional support to people directly affected by and witnesses of racism and online hate, as well as educational outreach. ZARA is one of our trusted partners in our mission to ride out intimidation. On February 13, employees at BRP sites worldwide wore yellow and took part in a global photo campaign — an initiative of BRP’s Ride Out Intimidation program. For every photo submitted, BRP donated to organizations actively working to combat bullying. Supporting organizations like ZARA is one way we demonstrate our commitment to building safer, more inclusive communities. But our efforts don’t stop there. As part of the Ride Out Intimidation program, BRP has launched the BRP Resource Hub — a free, expert-driven platform offering practical tools, insights, and educational resources to help individuals recognize, prevent, and respond to bullying in schools, workplaces, and beyond. At our recent Girls’ Day event, we welcomed 20 enthusiastic pupils from TNMS Stadl-Paura – setting a new participation record! Under the motto “From idea to serial product,” the girls explored every step of product development through interactive workshops. They laser engraved, soldered, worked with AGVs and cobots, and more. Guided by our motivated apprentices and trainer Maria Röbl, they experienced how passion, creativity, and hands-on expertise transform ideas into real-world innovations.
