Neben einem einwöchigen Sprachkurs durfte ich anschließend drei Wochen in einer Firma in Pistoia mitarbeiten und Einblicke in die Blechbearbeitung gewinnen. Besonders spannend war es, mich mit italienischen Kolleginnen und Kollegen zu verständigen und eigenständig Aufgaben zu übernehmen. What if “more friction” is actually the key to lighter components? 🤔💡 It sounds counterintuitive, but in lightweight construction, increasing the friction at joining surfaces can unlock entirely new design possibilities. 🔓 In bolted or press-fit connections, slipping is prevented not by the bolt alone, but by the friction between the surfaces. If that friction is low, designers are often forced to compensate with: 👎larger contact areas 👎more screws 👎heavier components ➡️ By precisely increasing the coefficient of friction at the surface, parts can be designed smaller and lighter - without sacrificing reliability. 👍👍 This is where engineered surface coatings come into play. Wir bei der Miba haben uns gefreut, mit so vielen motivierten Studierenden ins Gespräch gekommen zu sein – der Austausch war offen, ehrlich und voller Ideen. This year, we linked our global employee survey to a very special initiative: for every participant, we donated one euro to a social institution in their country💰. As more than 80 percent of our colleagues worldwide participated, we were able to collect 5,400 euros for SOS Children's Villages/ SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit in #Austria , #Germany , the #US , #Brazil , #China and #India . A few days ago, we handed over the donation. We also donated more than 1,000 euros to social projects in #Slovakia and #Slovenia 💪. #creatingtogether #gemeinsamgenial

Over the past days we witnessed creativity, technical skill and tremendous teamwork - and several inspiring concepts addressing our challenge.
