♻️ What does it take to hit 90% glass recycling in the EU? Just 4.11 kg more per person. That's according to research by Close The Glass Loop – and it’s within reach. Here are the key findings based on 2022 data: → On average, every EU resident would need to collect 4.11 kg more of glass packaging. → Portugal has the biggest potential for improvement. → Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Slovenia and Finland, are already above 90%. These leaders prove it can be done – but getting there is just step one. Staying there is the real challenge. 🏁 The report is published here: https://lnkd.in/eS_WQx7R
Taking care of our health at work is something we often overlook – until stress reminds us otherwise. So we organised sessions on understanding and dealing with stress at work at both Vetropack Straža and Vetropack Moravia Glass in Kyjov: 👉 How to recognise the early signs of stress and avoid unnecessary stressors. 👉 What burnout is, how it affects the body, and how it connects to time management. 👉 Practical techniques for relaxation and recovery after stressful situations. 👉 How mental health affects overall wellbeing and quality of life. And the best takeaways from these events were practical exercises that we can easily apply to our daily lives - small, real steps towards greater resilience. In Croatia, the workshop also marked the very first event of the new “Friday for Health” campaign – a long-term initiative dedicated to promoting health, safety, and wellbeing through regular monthly activities. A big thank you to Barbara Raguž Pečur and Pavel Pavlas for helping us better understand stress and showing us simple ways to take better care of ourselves – both at work and beyond. 💚
We are extremely pleased that so many shareholders attended our 56th Annual General Assembly at the Vetropack Hall in Bülach. We very much appreciate personal exchange and discussion with our shareholders, and we thank them for approving all the proposed motions. The 2024 fiscal year was one of the most difficult in our company’s history. Its dominant features were the persistently tense market environment and a number of difficult decisions – including, in particular, the closure of our plant in St-Prex. Nevertheless, we succeeded in tapping new business fields, driving innovations ahead, and deepening our commitment to sustainability. Here are some of the milestones that gave us particular cause for celebration, proving that we are on the right track: https://lnkd.in/dR6K_ePk #vetropack #innovation #sustainability #resilience #PackagingIndustry #GlobalChallenges
"My father and other relatives worked in the glassworks, so I started there too. I liked it and the rhythm of the factory became part of my life. There is a magic about glass making that is hard to put into words." Oksana Lubianychenko has worked at the Hostomel glassworks for most of her life – only the war has interrupted her 29-year career. The biggest challenge of her professional life was the occupation of Hostomel and the destruction of the factory. But she and her colleagues never lost hope. Find out what motivates Oksana, what gives her purpose in life, what she enjoys about her work and how her career has developed – all this and more in her story on our website: https://bit.ly/3RYNVLN
Today, the world celebrates Earth Day, a global initiative that brings together millions of people with a common goal: to protect our planet for future generations. 💚 At Vetropack Gostomel, we decided to celebrate the day in a more personal and conscious way. Instead of big events, we offered something simple but meaningful: each employee received a reusable eco-bag with a small gift inside: an arborvitae sapling and marigold seeds, to be planted wherever and whenever it felt right. 🌱 🌺 👉 Because caring for the environment begins with awareness and small, everyday choices: reusable instead of disposable, care instead of indifference, personal responsibility instead of leaving it to someone else. Through this initiative, 325 arborvitae saplings and more than 150,000 marigold seeds will take root in gardens, courtyards, balconies, parks and garden sheds, wherever colleagues live and work. We would also like to thank our colleagues across Vetropack who have joined us in planting marigolds in support of Ukraine. 🙏 This gesture reminds us that Vetropack is truly one team, united not only by production processes but also by shared values. #vetropack #EarthDay #sustainability
𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰? In parts of Central Europe, Easter eggs were once blown and painted from glass – a symbol of beauty, fragility, and skilled craftsmanship. At Vetropack, glass is more than just a material – it’s our passion. This Easter, we celebrate tradition and innovation, and the people who keep the spirit of craftsmanship alive. From all of us at Vetropack: 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫!
We don’t just make glass – we help shape the future. 💫 That's why we were proud to take part in two recent events aimed at connecting young people with the world of work: The Career Day in Krapina, Croatia The Future of Crafts Fair in Kyjov, Czech Republic. In Kyjov, the event also included a series of lectures called "Living Library of Professions", where our colleagues Martin Andrýsek , Head of the Electricians, and Jan Krist, Head of the IS Workshop, gave a joint lecture. They shared not only what their daily work looks like, but also their personal career paths – showing students how careers can evolve step by step. In Croatia, our mould designer Mario Toplak explained the full production process in simple terms, helping students imagine the kinds of roles they could take on in the future – whether it's operating machines, working in quality control, or designing moulds for new products. But why is all this important? 👉 For students, it’s a chance to: - see what real jobs look like – beyond the classroom - explore what kind of work they enjoy and where they can grow - be inspired by people who have been where they are now. 👉 For us, it’s about: - supporting schools and communities in preparing students for technical careers - building early relationships with young people who may become future apprentices, technicians, team leaders - and innovators - listening and learning what matters most to young people entering the workforce. But the most important thing when choosing a career, as our HR Director Lahorka Krsnik Cingulin in Croatia noted when participating in the panel: "How to choose the right career path": "When choosing a career, ask yourself what you enjoy - what you're naturally good at and what excites you. Then find schools and companies that will help you grow in that direction." Shaping the future of the industry starts with honest, open conversations - and we're proud to be part of that by participating in events like this. 🙌
