What happens when 18 colleagues paddle in sync? Team spirit comes alive – and sometimes it even makes waves. Our Leadec Paddle Buddies joined 34 other teams at the 12th Leipzig Corporate Dragon Boat Cup in August. Strong winds (up to 30 km/h) made it tough, but our crew kept their rhythm, their focus – and their smiles. The result: 3rd place again, just like last year. And to top it off, their very last race was also their fastest. Congratulations to the entire team – what an achievement! 🎉 They all impressed with their perseverance and commitment. In the months leading up to the race, the Paddle Buddies met six times to train and find the right rhythm together. #Teamspirit #Leipzig #Dragonboat

Safety is more than compliance – it’s a culture that must be built brick by brick For years, we have considered safety as one of our core values. In an interview, Aline Zanon , Safety Manager at Leadec Brazil, emphasizes the importance of protecting our employees and explains how safety, which is often viewed as an administrative matter, can become a part of the everyday practice. We help to raise awareness among our teams and foster a consequent safety culture by proactively identifying potential hazards to the physical and mental health of our employees as well as offering targeted training. This approach not only benefits our employees but also aligns with our clients’ expectations for reliable and responsible service provision. In the full interview, Aline shares how Leadec Brazil is translating this philosophy into concrete actions – and why true safety begins with a right mindset: https://lnkd.in/e5Vg4Xi8 #brazil #interview #safety

Leadec has expanded its collaboration with a global tire manufacturer and has been awarded its first project in India. The customer, who has so far produced tires for trucks and buses at the site in southern India, is expanding its production to include passenger car tires for the Indian market. To support this, our team is taking care of the installation of new production equipment for the prefabrication of tires. This includes unpacking, shifting, marking, and commissioning the equipment in the expanded area of the plant. This project is a great success for Leadec India: it strengthens our footprint in the tire industry and shows how we grow alongside our customers while delivering trusted services across regions. Turning waste into value – while keeping costs in check A UK manufacturer asked Leadec to take over waste handling at the production line, allowing the company to fully focus on its core business. The goals were clearly defined: maximize loads, reduce waste collections, improve waste quality, and cut costs. Together with the logistics partners at site, Leadec redesigned the process and coordinated all parties involved. Our team set up and manages dedicated segregation hubs, where different waste streams such as cardboard, polymers and general waste are processed efficiently. At the same time, logistics drivers collect waste directly while delivering parts. This ensures that no vehicle runs empty and improves overall waste quality. The key benefits for the customer: ✅ 5S in the production area and increased lineside space ✅ Focus on production with less distraction from non-core tasks ✅ Improved segregation quality, e.g., polymer purity increased from ~95% to ~99% ✅ Higher returns from recycled materials at zero extra cost ✅ Reduced CO2 footprint through less transportation, as polythene can now be reprocessed in the UK Overall, a holistic approach including process redesign, smart logistics, and precise segregation, that turned waste handling into a lean, higher-value, and more sustainable operation. #wastemanagement #recycling #logistics

Workshop: Quality assurance in the battery industry How can the highest quality standards be ensured along the entire battery value chain, from laboratory testing to series production? This was the focus of the BatterieMD workshop at Leadec in Hoyerswerda. Together with Fraunhofer IKTS, Gunnar Grohmann , Battery Expert at Leadec, shared insights into practical quality assurance methods, testing procedures, and concrete examples from Leadec’s service portfolio. A highlight was the tour at the Leadec competence center for batteries in Hoyerswerda. Participants were able to see live how traction and stationary batteries are repaired, compare different battery generations and learn how quality is ensured at every stage of the process. For Leadec, quality assurance in the battery sector is not just one step in the production process, it is a decisive factor for sustainable and reliable e-mobility solutions. In this regard, we put a special focus on our people: well-trained employees are the key to stable quality. Many thanks to ACOD Automotive Cluster Ostdeutschland , Fraunhofer IKTS , and all participants for the inspiring discussions. Leadec reduced its global carbon footprint by 8% In 2024, we achieved an 8% reduction in total greenhouse gas emissions – covering all three relevant scopes of the internationally recognized Greenhouse Gas Protocol: ➡️ Scope 1: Direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by Leadec ➡️ Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased energy ➡️ Scope 3: Other indirect emissions across the value chain To accurately assess emissions, Leadec conducts a comprehensive analysis of its entire value chain and collects environmental data from all global business units, such as water consumption, energy usage, fuel consumption or waste generation. The 8% decrease compared to 2023 corresponds to more than 14,000 tCO₂e. This achievement is the result o, targeted energy-saving measures, along with continuous improvements in how we monitor and track CO₂ emissions. Since calculating our corporate carbon footprint for the first time in 2019, we have consistently implemented decarbonization initiatives to support a more sustainable industrial future together with our customers, suppliers, and partners. #carbonfootprint #emissions #sustainability

🔋 Battery logistics are key to the energy transition — but only if done right A recent study identified three urgent priorities for establishing a resilient and scalable battery logistics infrastructure. 1️⃣ A clear, secure, and scalable logistics framework Battery logistics must combine economic viability with the highest safety standards. This requires clear definitions of battery condition, standardized risk assessments, and simple yet enforceable rules that are easy to apply in day-to-day operations. Only then can the sector safely and efficiently handle everything from brand-new to damaged or end-of-life batteries. 2️⃣ Standardization of procedures Processes such as permits, fire protection, and insurance must follow uniform guidelines. This increases transparency, reduces risks, and makes logistics processes more predictable, especially across regions and companies. Standardized procedures also simplify cooperation between logistics providers, insurers, and authorities, which is critical for growth. 3️⃣ Expansion of training and qualifications Safe handling of high-voltage batteries requires ongoing investment in training. This includes everyone along the chain, from warehouse workers to public officials. A qualified workforce is the foundation for operational safety, regulatory compliance, and ultimately, customer trust. 🚛 Practice proves the point: Since 2023, Leadec has operated a state-of-the-art battery logistics center in Hoyerswerda, Germany. The site features modern fire safety systems, real-time monitoring, and export capabilities. It shows how industrial service providers can meet tomorrow's standards today. Battery logistics is more than just transport and storage. It's a strategic component of the shift towards sustainable mobility. To unlock its full potential, cooperation, clarity, and competence are necessary. #battery #logistics #emobility

Our team in Poland decided that office life could use a bit more excitement – and built a countdown clock that tracks the days to almost anything: from Hot Dog Day to International UFO Day and even the boss’s vacation. It might not change the world, but it gives each day its own absurd mission – and sometimes that’s exactly what we need in between deadlines and meetings. #funatwork #countdown #office
